Nigerian singer Reekado Banks was set to perform at the Nai Fest that went down at Ngong Racecourse over the weekend.
A close source to the organisers told Mpasho.co.ke that Reekado was not paid half of the remaining balance and so de didn’t perform.
“THEY BOOKED HIM AND HIS TEAM A RETURN TICKET BEFORE HE CAME TO THE COUNTRY AND GAVE HIM A DOWN PAYMENT. WHEN HE ARRIVED HE DID A COUPLE OF INTERVIEWS AND A SMALL PRESS CONFERENCE.”
“THERE WAS A LOT OF HYPE FROM THE CARS HE WAS RECEIVED INTO THE HOTEL HE STAYED AT.”
“BUT THEN, THE ORGANISERS NEVER PAID HIM THE REMAINING PART OF THE MONEY AND SOME MINUTES TO HIM GETTING TO THE STAGE, HIS MANAGEMENT CANCELLED THE PERFORMANCE SINCE THE ARTISTE HADN’T BEEN PAID.”
The source went on to say that Sailors also cancelled the performance over payment issues.
“SAILORS WAS ALSO NOT PAID. TANASHA CANCELLED HER PERFORMANCE A DAY BEFORE CAUSE SHE SMELLED SOMETHING FISHY.”
Mpasho.co.ke has tried reaching Bridget Achieng, who is the organiser of the event but her phone is off. We have sent her a message and await her response.
