‘I sold socks to mortuary attendants,’ Wakimani narrates depression journey

Comedian Paul Wakimani Ogutu got into depression after struggling to make ends meet. The comedian who first hit the headlines on Churchill show last year had sunk into alcoholism and last year, he made the decision to quit alcohol.

Speaking to Massawe Japani on Radio Jambo, Wakimani said;

“I TRIED SELLING NEWSPAPERS, I TRIED SELLING SOCKS EVEN TO MORTUARY ATTENDANTS BECAUSE THERE WERE NOT CUSTOMERS, YOU SELL TO PEOPLE WHO DON’T EVEN NEED THE SOCKS AND ALL THOSE BUSINESSES NONE WAS MAKING PROFIT FOR ME.”

 

“ALL THAT WORKS OUT FOR YOU IS JUST NEGATIVITY AND IN THOSE DAYS, I WAS WALKING FROM CARNIVORE, THAT PARTLY CUMULATED TO ME GOING THROUGH A PHASE THAT I THANK GOD HE TOOK ME FROM

He was saddened by the death of his friend and comedian Ayeiya, who died in a road accident in a car that Wakimani was driving. Since then, he says he has never driven a car

“I CANNOT NOT TALK ABOUT THE ACCIDENT, THE CASE IS IN COURT, I WAS TAKEN TO COURT”

Adding;

“ALL I WANT IS FOR THE CASE TO BE OVER.”
