Lessons Kenyan couples should learn from Nyota Ndogo’s prank gone wrong experience

Nyota has revealed that she was ‘’dumped’’ and blocked by her husband after a pregnancy prank on April’s Fools day went wrong.

Speaking during an interview with Jalas and Chito Nyota Ndogo shared

‘I CALLED HIM AND TOLD HIM THAT I WAS PREGNANT, HE ASKED ‘WHAT’ AND DISCONNECTED THE CALL.

HE LEFT KENYA IN JANUARY AND WAS TO COME BACK IN MAY. WE TALK ON A VIDEO CALL AND HE HAS NEVER SEEN ANY BABY BUMP.

MAYBE HE WAS NOT SHOCKED BY THE THOUGHT OF ME BEING PREGNANT BUT BY WHOSE PREGNANCY IT WAS.

HE THOUGHT I AM PREGNANT FOR SOMEONE ELSE. I HAVE TRIED TALKING TO HIS DAUGHTER AND EVERY TIME SHE MENTIONS MY NAME TO HIM HE DISCONNECTS THE CALL.’

Nyota added

I CAN GO TO DENMARK BUT EVEN WHEN HE WAS GOING HOME HE WENT THROUGH A LOT OF TROUBLE, NOW IMAGINE IF HE AS A CITIZEN WENT THROUGH SUCH TROUBLE WHAT ABOUT ME?

I KNOW WHAT I WAS GETTING FROM HIM APART FROM MONEY AND THAT IS WHY I AM FIGHTING FOR THE RELATIONSHIP.

Well, Kenyans here are things that one can learn from Nyota Ndogo’s experience.

Not everyone gets the joke

Before pranking your better half, be sure they can take a joke as some people take things way too seriously.

Hence you might end up dumped.

Don’t do things just because everyone else is doing it

Africans have taken in the habit of aping the Western culture without caring about the repercussions.

Don’t do things just because everyone else is doing it.

April fools day is meant to be celebrated worldwide but that does not mean you have to prank people just because others are doing it.

Trust once broken is hard to build

Nyota Ndogo says the reason her husband got angry is that he thinks she slept with someone else.

Repairing the damage might be hard considering her husband already suspects infidelity in their marriage.

Even though there might be other reasons why they are not talking the husband is already pissed and assuring him might prove hard.

So before you prank your better half, weigh the prank and always see what the repercussions might be.

Is the prank worth ruining your marriage for? If not then just let it go.

In Nyota Ndogo’s case, it feels like the hubby already wanted to leave but did not have an excuse and now he has one.

Allow your spouse some space

Allowing your partner some space to think and process his anger is a good thing.

The break should however not be too long as it may end up being permanent.

But if one does everything ranging from asking for forgiveness, apologizing, and even giving their spouse time and they don’t come around, Move on.

After all wanaume ama wanawake so kumi na mbili kama disciples wa Jesus.
