“The tragedy indeed took place and we have come to accept that Chumba is no more. We are, however, requesting for help to retrieve the body and give her a befitting send-off,” the deceased’s brother Victor Kiptoo pleaded.
Nandi County police boss Samson ole Kina indicated that it has been difficult to retrieve the body due to the raging floods.
“This dam has become a dangerous place especially during the rainy season,” Kina stated as he warned residents to be extra careful and to keep off.
The incident came just a month after a woman taking photos with her brother at Thompson Falls, Nyahururu County, slipped and fell in the river.
Jemima Oresha was standing on a stone near the river as her brother was taking photos when she slipped and was swept away by the raging waters.
Area residents retrieved the body, a week after the incident had taken place.
