Police in Nyandarua are investigating a case in which the body of a middle-aged man was found floating in a dam.
Nyandarua North Sub County Police Commander Timon Odingo confirmed that the body of the unknown male was retrieved from Ndurori dam in Kianjogu Sub location on Thursday morning.
“THE DECOMPOSING BODY HAD THREE DEEP STAB WOUNDS ON THE HEAD AND A WOUNDED FACE. WE SUSPECT IT WAS A MURDER INCIDENT BEFORE THE BODY WAS DUMPED INTO THE WATER,” HE SAID.
“WE HAVE EXTRACTED FINGERPRINTS TO ASCERTAIN HIS IDENTITY AND THE BODY REMOVED TO NYAHURURU COUNTY REFERRAL HOSPITAL AWAITING POSTMORTEM REPORT,” SAID ODINGO NOTING THAT THE DECEASED WORE A BROWN SHIRT, RED T-SHIRT AND BLUE JEANS.
Odingo also confirmed a grisly road accident along Nyahururi-Nyeri road involving two vehicles and a motorcycle, yesterday night.
The lady driver of a personal vehicle and motorcyclist are said to have suffered fractures on their right legs and were rushed to Nyahururu County Referral Hospital.
“THE ACCIDENT OCCURRED ON THURSDAY NIGHT AT GWA KUNGU AREA. THE MOTORCYCLE WAS NOT RECOVERED FROM THE SCENE,” ADDED ODINGO.
He urged motorists to be on high alert while using the road adding that speeding detectors had been installed to curb speeding.
