Thato Molamu Returns To TV With A New Show. This year it looks like we are going to be spoiled with epic show after show on TV. Already shows like SABC1 series, The Kingdom as well as Mzansi Magic human trafficking drama, Mzali Wam are making major waves. Viewers are also waiting in anticipation for the SABC3 upcoming drama, The Estate. All of these shows have introduced new talent and have also brought back some of our faves, who have since been absent from the scene.
One upcoming show that have caught the attention of many is 1Magic’s new telenovela Lingashoni. It boost some of our most talented actors like Thato Molamu, veteran actor Patrick Mofokeng, Thuli Thabethe and Liteboho Molise. Lingashoni tells the story of a poverty-stricken farm worker who returns to his former life as a high-flying businessman after a decade-long memory loss.
Thato will play the role of, Papi Zulu, who started a new life with Puleng, the wife of Mandla, a man who hired him as a family driver. Puleng’s husband Mandla, is unfortunately going through memory loss. It already seems like Papi is going to be one trouble maker.
Lingashoni will premiere on 1Magic DStv channel 103 on 22nd March 2021 at 19h30, Mondays to Thursdays.
Thato is best known for his starring role as Nicholas Nomvete, a spoiled brat in the SABC1 soap opera Generations, joining the cast in 2011. In early 2016 he guest starred on the second season of the SABC1 drama series Mfolozi Street before landing the lead role in the Mzansi Magic telenovela Greed & Desire. Thato was also part of the cast that made history in the international award winning film, ‘Losing Lerato’.
